Jean-Baptiste was born in Paris in 1748 and acquired the master’s degree at a very young age on May 10, 1769. Six months later, he settled in the neighborhood of carpenters and wood carvers, under the sign of “Gros Chapelet”. rue de Cléry in Paris. In 1784, his reputation is such that he counts with Georges Jacob, Boulard and François II Foliot among the regular suppliers of Garde-Meuble. He makes some of the most sumptuous furniture in seats for royal residences.
